Memories Served

Published by rbstjohns at 12:21 pm under Uncategorized, poetry Edit This

You might be empty

But what memories

Sitting quietly pipe in hand

Deep in thought

As the fireplace reflected

Patterns on your weather worn face

Or was it a small celebration

Where a glass was lifted

In a triumph of love and life

Did this fair bottle sit

Gathering dust on the shelf

Until that special occasion

Young one born

A daughter wed

Or that chat with her potential suitor

Troubled times when

A little fortification

Helps to get you past

That unwieldy barrier you face

All this and more

Bottled up inside

Gathered in past years

Memories served
